Sundilla wins 2017 SERFA Award

2017 SERFA Awards A committee consisting of Kari Estrin, who created the awards 2014, Clint Bernard, and Art Menius selected three esteemed recipients for the 2017 SERFA Awards: Kathy Mattea, John McCutcheon, and Sundilla, which the board then ratified. The SERFA Awards recognize those people and entities that made extraordinary contributions to folk music and its community in the Southeast Region of Folk Alliance. The SouthEast Regional Folk Alliance, or SERFA, has announced the recipients of the 2017 SERFA Awards, and one of the three recipients calls Auburn home. 2019 (so far) Sundilla schedule is available now!

There’s no denying it: 2018 was an incredible year for Sundilla.  Record attendance, a record number of Season Pass holders, and a record number of supporters at the Folk Hero level. We presented 16 concerts (14 at the AUUF, and two at Pebble Hill) and 9 of those performers were Sundilla first-timers. (10 if you count the Randall Bramblett Band, since all of Randall’s previous appearances were solo concerts.) And at least one of the first-timers was performing in Alabama for the first time. On Thursday, October 19, Sundilla will proudly present Reggie Harris and Greg Greenway’s program “Deeper Than the Skin.” Advance tickets are just $12 and available at Spicer’s Music, Blooming Colors, and online at www.sundillamusic.com. Admission at the door will be $15, though employees of Auburn University and Auburn University-Montgomery can pay $12 at the door. We met Shawna Caspi for the first time a year ago and were blown away by the CD she handed us. Since that first meeting, she’s been back in the studio to record on of this year’s finest albums, Forest Fire. Shawna shared a bill with your good friend Austin MacRae who suggested she make a stop with us and we were delighted that she agreed to come into the studio (well, a theatre actually) for a session.
